0UPDATED 8:30AM - A major winter storm will develop across Wisconsin tonight peaking early Wednesday AM. Several inches of heavy snow are expected in southern Wisconsin with lesser amounts north. Latest models have trended slightly slower with heavy snow for the Wednesday morning commute. Please check out our live video at the bottom of this post detailing how we got here. Are you ready for some snow!
STORM TIMING
Snow will overspread Wisconsin after 9AM today and may be slow to accumulate during the day. Around sunset snowfall will gradually increase in coverage and intensity. The storm peaks Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, potentially ending with a burst of heavy snow. The snow will exit around noon Wednesday in eastern Wisconsin.

Timing overview with snow beginning today. Snow will increasing coverage and intensity Tuesday night. Ending Wednesday morning by noon.

NAM Simulated radar for the entire event beginning at 6AM Tuesday and ending Wednesday afternoon. Notice there could be a heavy burst on Wednesday morning before ending.
SNOWFALL FORECAST
For the most part, 6"+ is a good bet for southern Wisconsin. My initial forecast had a zone of 10-14" across southern Wisconsin. Latest model data has come through weaker with slightly less snow and little support of 12"+ amounts. I still believe locally higher amounts will occur. Therefore I've updated the snowfall accumulation map. Snow is coming to an end in northwest Wisconsin.
