AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT SOUTHEASTERN IRON... SOUTHEASTERN ASHLAND AND NORTHEASTERN PRICE COUNTIES
At 540 PM CDT, an area of strong thunderstorms stretched from near Butternut, or 8 miles north of Park Falls, to rural northeast Price County. The storms were moving east at 15 mph but additional storms have been forming northwest of this area. Wind gusts up to 45 mph, dime size hail, torrential rainfall, and frequent cloud to ground lightning can be expected with these storms. Locations impacted include... Park Falls, Turtle Flambeau Flowage, Fifield, Butternut, Butternut Lake, and Pike Lake. Seek shelter inside a sturdy building and away from windows until these storms pass. Get off area lakes and seek shelter on shore in a sturdy shelter or a hard topped vehicle. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive into areas where water covers the road, the road may be washed out.
