A low pressure system will bring multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms, potentially heavy at times; to portions of Wisconsin today through Friday AM. Storm total rainfall amounts in the 2-4" range are expected for portions of Wisconsin - with locally higher amounts possible. Forecast confidence in the exact location of the heaviest rains remains low.
Heavy rain will be possible today through Fri morning. Anytime in there - where t-storm activity lines up one day to the next - the heaviest rain will fall. Right now that seems to be somewhere across central or southern Wisconsin. For Wisconsin overall (including the north), most likely timeframe for widespread rain will be Thursday night into Friday AM.
As for impacts; due to the event being somewhat long-duration I don't anticipate major widespread implications. However locally where rainfall exceeds 4.0" there could be problems. Who will that be? We will find out. We are several hours away from the main event and will likely need to make adjustments to the forecast! Stay tuned!
