Before you head out the door for the weekend, here is the latest weather information!
Heat will be the main story. Excessive Heat Warnings are in effect for a large section of Wisconsin. Temps of 90-100F, plus high humidity will drive the heat index into the 100-110F both today and Saturday. Thunderstorm activity increases Saturday night and Sunday as a cold front arrives. Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible.
Saturday, Jun 30 2018- Temperatures stay warm overnight into Saturday, becoming excessively hot during the day. Looks like a repeat of today. Breezy at times. T-storms are possible across Upper Michigan and the far north during the morning which could be strong. High temps will reach the 90's with humidity-driven heat indices exceeding 100F once again.
It's possible a thunderstorm complex will form overnight into Sunday morning. Because of this strong thunderstorm chances were extended into northeast Wisconsin but this prediction is less certain. I considered using severe wording more aggressively but decided against it. We will be watching closely.
Excessive is a relative term and hype is not our thing, but Friday and Saturday will be about as toasty as it gets for Wisconsin.
