Temperatures will increase this weekend. It will be warmest in the south where temperatures will reach the lower 90°s. This in combination with dew points near 70°F could lead to a very humid weekend too. Multiple rounds of thunderstorms with heavy rain are possible Wisconsin, best chances north. Severe thunderstorms are possible. Confidence on when/where is low due to low predictability of MCS t-storm systems. Rain chances increase in the south on Monday before seasonable weather returns.
Thunderstorms with heavy rain are expected across northern or central Wisconsin Friday morning. Models differ on location. This thunderstorm event will have an impact on Friday night and Saturday storm chances. Will be watching closely for isolated afternoon t-storm redevelopment. Some storms could become strong to severe.
Weekend Heat and Humidity
Today and Friday look relatively cool compared to the weekend when 90F temperatures are in the forecast. The heat and humidity builds in from the southwest with dew points near 70F. Thunderstorm and heavy rain chances will be higher in the north keeping it cooler, but the humidity will remain.
Heavy Rain & Thunderstorms
Heavy rain is expected across northern Wisconsin Friday through this weekend. The WPC has highlighted northern Wisconsin for heavy rain potential on multiple days. Historical analog patterns support the heavy rain narrative but are random in placement. MCS-like thunderstorm complexes with heavy rain will drive the rain chances. These systems can be rather unpredictable in terms of specific location so confidence is low about when/where. We need to take things day by day. By Monday the low pressure system will pass over providing at least a better chance for rain south.
