It will be an eventful week of weather as our second anticipated storm system moves in.
Rain showers and maybe some thunder will move through Wisconsin tomorrow morning with light rain accumulations generally less than 0.25".
A second round of showers and thunderstorms is expected Tuesday afternoon or evening across southeast Wisconsin. Total storm rainfall may exceed 1.0" by Wednesday morning in spots. In addition to the rainfall some thunderstorms could be strong with hail. When t-storms occur this time of year we usually see hail. We saw hail last week, therefore I would expect hail perhaps greater than 0.5" in diameter.
- NAM 4K simulation for 7PM Tuesday Night. Severe weather is expected in Illinois but uncertainty remains whether this will make it to Wisconsin.
As the storm system strengthens just to our southeast, snow will return to southern Wisconsin. Right now 1-3" of snow is possible; most accumulation on the higher-elevation points in that part of the state.
- Early indications are that 1-3" could fall Wednesday. Details will become clearer tomorrow.
The seven day forecast overall looks rather springy and unsettled with above average temperatures.
